Post Busan: Kenya’s experience

The Partnership for effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) was adopted at the 4th High Level Forum in Busan South Korea in 2011. It represented the international community’s commitment towards a fundamental transformation of aid architecture. To this effect, Domestic Resource Mobilization (DRM) has been identified as a crucial focus area for aid towards assisting Africa to achieve its renewal and overall development agenda.

The common principles guiding the partnership include;

a) Ownership of development priorities by developing countries
b) Focus on results
c) Inclusive development partnerships
d) Transparency and accountability to each other
